Oakland Picture and Poem

The process of this picture taking was hard. some graves had all different designs and letters. I had to pick a word that connected to Oakland. When we got back to school we had to write a poem about what it was like at Oakland.  Here is my poem:

Oakland

It was a breezy autumn day
We had just woke up from hitting the hay
Hopped in the bus
After showing up to school
Going to Oakland Cemetery
Where we might find a Goblin, Ghost, or a ghoul
All though this might be irrelevant,
I took my time to salute the confederates
It was dark with a scent of death
Like an old mans moonshine breath
the graves as unique as a rock
The Jews were buried as a flock
They buried anything from birds to bees
Lord only knows what is buried beneath these trees.
So all as well as I departed form this place.
As I turned and waved goodbye to this sacred space

Weekly Reflection - 9/7

This week I learned that the Appalachian Plateau only occupies one county.  That's how small it is.  I learned that you can live without your frontal lobe functioning.  We learned this by learning about Phineas Gage who had a pole shoved into his brain from a premature explosion.  This week I think I did well academically because I got my work done.  My goal for next week is to do the same level of work as I did this week.

Weekly Reflection 9/5/2012

Hi my name is Luke I have many passions.  I love Elvis and I like to listen to 1950s music such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and many more.   I wish I could live in the 1950s and have a pink 56 Cadillac.  I want to own a log cabin up in the mountains.   I play hockey and lots of sports actually.  I play baseball, basketball, golf, swimming, football and others.  I am interested in history, specifically in World War II.  So far, 8th grade is good but it’s still hard for me to get used to the schedule.  I enjoy learning about the regions of Georgia.
