The Trail Of Tears

Trail Of Tears
This week we are
learning about the Cherokee Indians. The movie that we watched about the
Cherokee Indians was very interesting and gory. I have some Cherokee in my
blood so now I know what they had to endure. The Trail Of Tears is a death
march President Jackson wanted all the Indians out so he tried to put out a
petition for people to sign. It did not work but then there was the residents
of the state that were looking for gold they sign the petition and got the
Indians kicked out of Georgia to Oklahoma. They movie did take a surprising
turn when john was stabbed repeatedly.
The movie about The
Trail Of Tears was very gory and just sad as his mom and wife were they’re to
watch john getting stabbed. I think that the Indians did not deserve what they had coming it was
their land first and it should have stayed that way.

GOLD GOLD GOLD!

GOLD GOLD GOLD!
Hey! what’s
that illuminating beauty in the water? HEY THAT’S GOLD! Our trip to Dahlonega
was the best trip yet in my opinion. First we drove through this amazing cozy
town indeed I have been to. We went to the small gold museum and it was really
cool. Later on we watched a cool movie about the gold in Georgia and how
Benjamin Parks stumbled upon a 17 pound gold nugget in his backyard and got 3
dollars off of it. Word spread and
thousands came from all over. At the end of the trip we went to the biggest
gold mine in the world. We also at the
end went panning for gold and I found two pieces. Then we drove on back to the school and that
was the best trip so far. What I learned is that there are no gold nuggets left
in the gold mine, all there is left is gold powder and gold that we can’t even
see. I am glad to be going back soon.

Cloudland canyon trip
The Cloudland Canyon trip was very fun but the only flaw I would have to say is the
stairs. You might think it’s just like 3 hundred steps right? Wrong, try 2000
steps down and 2000 steps up. It was a difficult climb. Jacob, Josh and I made a movie called JJM it was about three kids and one kids did not share and now he is running from the po po and we are trying to get him to share again. I saw some stuff I thought were cool, I thought the water running down the canyon was cool because of how cold it felt. the rock steps were cool to me because it was an unusual way to climb and the rock overhang was really cool because its like a freak of nature. I learned about the sand spots, layered rocks and the canyon cracks. I saw all of those things there over all I thought this trip was awesome!

Our Arabia trip
Luke Tracey
10/12/13
Arabia
The trip to Arabia Mountain was
really fun we got to write poems and Jacob, Josh, and I got to make a movie. It
was about the government destroying the city and the only people known to be
left were the class. The rest of the time we had to take pictures and measure
the weathering pits with measuring tapes. Overall, it was a great trip.
I prefer Arabia more I think it’s easier to clime and it
shows more signs of quarrying witch I think is good for camping and movie
making.
